Warranty and Coverage
3-YEAR/36,000-MILE NEW VEHICLE LIMITED WARRANTY
GM vehicles registered in the U.S.A. receive New Vehicle Limited Warranties that include the following:
Complete vehicle coverage:
- 3-years/36,000-miles (whichever comes first).
- Tires (covered for defects in materials and workmanship; not for normal wear and tear or road hazards).
- Towing to your nearest Chevrolet dealership.
CORROSION PROTECTION
Chevrolet vehicles are designed and built to resist corrosion.
All body and sheet metal components are warranted against rust-through corrosion for 6-years/100,000-miles (whichever comes first).
Application of additional rust-inhibiting materials is not required under the corrosion coverage and none is recommended. See store for terms of this limited warranty.
AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT ALTERATIONS AND WARRANTIES
Installations or alterations to the original GM-equipped vehicle (or chassis) are not covered by the General Motors New Vehicle Limited Warranty. The special body company, assembler, equipment installer or upfitter is solely responsible for warranties on the body or equipment and any alterations (or any effect of the alterations) to any of the parts, components, systems or assemblies installed by GM. General Motors is not responsible for the safety or quality of design features, materials or workmanship of any alterations by such suppliers.
GM PROTECTION PLAN
The GM Protection Plan is the only vehicle service and maintenance contract endorsed by General Motors and brought to you by GMAC Insurance, the insurance people from GMAC. The GM Protection Plan offers mechanical coverage for the parts and labor costs of repairing covered vehicle components against failure — even if it results from wear and tear (except in Kentucky). Depending on the level of coverage, additional benefits may include:
- Roadside Assistance Program
- Alternate transportation
- Towing
- Basic maintenance coverage for specific maintenance needs
5-YEAR/100,000-MILE FULLY TRANSFERABLE POWERTRAIN LIMITED WARRANTY
In addition to the 3-year/36,000 mile bumper-to-bumper coverage described in the Warranty Booklet, General Motors will:
Warrant each 2007 through 2009 Chevy passenger car, light-duty truck or van for 5 years or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first; see dealer for details) from the original in-service date of the vehicle, against warrantable repairs to the powertrain components of the vehicle. This transferable warranty features a zero-dollar deductible and can be transferred to another owner at no charge. Cover repairs to correct any vehicle defect related to materials or workmanship occurring during the 5-year/100,000-mile Powertrain Limited Warranty term. The coverage and benefits described in the Warranty Booklet under “New Vehicle Limited Warranty” are not extended or altered because of this special Powertrain Limited Warranty.
