The Great Ascent
by Dorrellkc on 1/30/2026 3:00:46 AM
If your looking for a big Forester then the Ascent is it. Gas mileage is more smiles per gallon vs anything reasonable. The third row comes in handy when needed, but don't expect to put full size adults in the third row for more than a couple of hours. The third row should be reserved for the kids. The radio is ok but it does lag from the initial startup of the car to pressing buttons which is a bit annoying and I wish that I could update the software to the new software that is in the 26 Outback. Even with all of that said, the Ascent fits our needs and we are happy with the AWD system and the overall handling. The Ascent is a joy to drive and has been very capable when needed. Keep up with the maintenance schedule and drive it like a normal human and the vehicle will treat you well. - 5.0
Love this car
by Roddy on 10/20/2025 2:34:58 PM
The Ascent has comfortable seating with plenty of inside room with ease of entering and exiting, great visibility, smooth ride and plenty of power with the 2.5. Turbo. Gas mileage seems good for an all wheel drive ( if you don't have a heavy foot ). Outside noise is minimal. A relaxing drive on any road trip adventure. - 5.0
23 Ascent Premium
by JBTN on 8/17/2025 1:38:49 PM
Purchased in July of 2023 in Boone, NC. 25 months and 63 k miles later, I really like this auto. Issues experienced were the cell phone technology with several return trips before it stopped being an issue. Mileage is less around town than the expected 23 miles per gallon. The mileage on the interstate is better than the 26 mpg expected. Enjoy the safety items, large doors, storage and seating up to 5 adults and 3 kids with our bench seats. I enjoy this car much more than expected. Seats are not the most comfortable but ok. Hoping that the turbo holds up but no more than any turbo. I really am hopeful that this model turbo will indeed be better than most. Really appreciate sitting up in the car almost like a truck. Really glad that the Ascent does not have the auto stop issue that I believe to be a danger to drivers with an unexpected pause. Do wish that the technology control panel had knobs as the current set up, like most cars, i can be distracting. In summary, really good experience to date. I will buy this car again if this car maintains the reliability and dependability. Time will tell. Subaru, if you are reading this, blind spot monitoring should be a base item in every car you make. Forget about sunrooms and dogs and cats and make each Subaru safer with blind spot monitoring. Safety and reliability are your selling points, so make it happen.
